Philadelphia Eagles backup tight end Richard Rodgers suffered what appeared to be a calf injury during team drills Monday and was carted off the field.

Reporters on the scene noted Rodgers was very upset, and that head coach Doug Pederson consolded him as he was preparing to be carted off the field.

Rodgers signed a two-year, $1.925 million contract in free agency this past spring. Previously with the Green Bay Packers, the former third-round pick out of Cal has tallied 121 receptions for 1,173 yards and 13 touchdowns in his career.
