EA Sports College Football 25 will be released at some point this summer with a full reveal coming in May.

This is the first time that the company will release an iteration of this game since July of 2013 when intellectual property rights issues and legal problems forced it to shut down.

For those a bit longer in the tooth, the first version of the game was released back in 1993 and named Bill Walsh College Football. Generations of gamers and football fans have enjoyed playing this game on several different consoles.

With the expected release of EA Sports College Football 25 in this era, attention has turned to Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) and the new economics surrounding amateur athletics.

Per a note from On3, “EA contracted OneTeam Partners to facilitate college athletes’ likeness back in May 2023. At the time, a source told On3 that the cash pool for athletes was in the $5 million neighborhood, which would pay out to $500 per player.”

Representatives from 120 FBS schools have already committed to be involved in the game. All 10 FBS conferences as well as the College Football Playoff have also already signed off.
