Future Hall of Fame guard Dwyane Wade has officially signed a one-year, $2.3 million deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers and will report to practice on Wednesday.

“After clearing NBA waivers at 5 p.m. ET, 12-time All-Star guard Dwyane Wade has signed a one-year, $2.3 million contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers, league sources told ESPN,” Adrian Wojnarowski reported.

In no way is this a surprise. Initial reports after being bought out by the Chicago Bulls over the weekend indicated that Wade was leaning towards signing with Cleveland. That was followed up by another report suggesting that he had already made a decision to join best friend LeBron James with the Cavaliers.

Coming off a 2016-17 season that saw him average north of 18 points per game, Wade figures to start next to Isaiah Thomas in a rebuilt Cavaliers backcourt this season.
