Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver, Dwayne Bowe should be breathing a huge sigh of relief. Bowe was arrested last November for driving 48 in a 35 mile zone, and for possessing two containers of what police suspected to be marijuana.

A passenger was also arrested after what appeared to be marijuana cigarettes were found on him, police said at the time. According to a police report, Bowe admitted to smoking marijuana while waiting at the airport.
And, what’s wrong with enjoying a little marijuana during your bye week in the NFL? After playing for several weeks, apparently Bowe thought he was entitled.
To add more fuel to the fire, of course Bowe claimed he was “profiled” upon being pulled over.

Fast forward to five months to Bowe’s hearing and some fancy work by Bowe’s attorney, and boom, Bowe’s charges are drastically reduced to “defective equipment and littering“, for which Bowe plead guilty and paid a staggering $610 fine.
It sounds like this is the going rate for first-time substance possession offenders according to Yahoo.com
City prosecutor Amy Ashefford says Bowe’s amended charges are no different from what others get when charged with speeding and possessing pot for the first time.
So, there you have it folks. Get caught toting around some weed for the first time, while speeding and poof, the weed turns into litter and the speeding is a result of defective equipment. Or possibly, vice-verse; maybe the pot was defective and the car was littering? Anyway, Bowe should be happy and hopefully will keep his celebration party treats legal.
Here is one interesting, to say the least, reaction to the outcome of Bowe’s case:
I got into more trouble for catching a 10lb fish with my bare hands than Dwayne Bowe did for speeding/possession of marijuana. Makes sense.
