The Duke Blue Devils are imposing their will against a lesser Rhode Island team in the second round of the NCAA Tournament Saturday. Duke opened up an early double-digit lead and seems to be coasting along.
Though, there appears to be an unfortunate backdrop to all of this. According to various reports, the mother of Duke freshman forward Wendell Carter was involved in an incident with a Rhode Island fan during the game.
Incident in the crowd involving Wendell Carter Jr.'s mother (taunting from RI fans?); she appears to be wiping away tears and has moved closer to Duke bench; RI fan escorted away

Mostly saw the aftermath, but other Duke families made room for her closer to bench … and ushers/security came to check, etc.

There’s no other information available at this time. Though, it’s readily apparent that Duke itself and those tasked with security in Pittsburgh took this pretty seriously.
