One of the interesting backdrops heading into the 2019 NBA Finals is the presence of hip-hop artist Drake as a huge Toronto Raptors fan. Drake’s court-side actions during the 2019 Eastern Conference Finals between the Raptors and Milwaukee Bucks are now notorious.

At one point during the series, Drake left his front-row seat to massage Raptors head coach Nick Nurse on the bench. It’s incidents like this one that led to the NBA having a word with the Raptors about their super fan.

“The NBA spoke to the Toronto Raptors during the Eastern Conference finals about Drake’s activity and presence on the sidelines,” ESPN’s Michele Steele reported Wednesday.

Remember, Drake received a warning from the NBA for getting into it with then-Cleveland Cavaliers player Kendrick Perkins during the playoffs last year.

A global ambassador for the Raptors, Drake has upset a lot around the NBA for his actions during home games over the past several seasons.

It will be interesting to see if he keeps these antics up during Game 1 of the Finals against the Golden State Warriors in Toronto Thursday evening.

But at least one Warriors player isn’t too worried.
