We saw the calm side of Seattle Seahawks’ wide receiver Doug Baldwin on Tuesday’s Media Day. Expressing particular interest in going up against cornerbacks Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner, Baldwin had some lighthearted comments to share (via NFL.com).
I’m excited about it. Anytime you get to go up against guys that have done well in this league, who have dominated in this league, you have got to rise to the challenge. … Browner being one of the most physical cornerbacks, Revis being one of the most cerebral cornerbacks, I’m excited about the opportunity we have presented to us.
Not being concerned about how tough of a challenge Revis might be, Baldwin continued..
I’m going to bring my sunblock, my shades, and a hat and I’m going to go to Revis Island and see what I can do. And I’ll let you know after the game.
After a fueled up, extra-loud expletive-filled rant following the win over the Green Bay Packers, Baldwin claimed he was was holding off on the emotion to let loose on the critics he’ll address Tuesday night on a interview with NFL Network. If you plan to listen, you might want to buy some earplugs and keep children under the age of 14 out of the room.
The Patriots’ possessed the fourth-best defense against wide receivers in 2014, allowing only 11 touchdowns against the position. We’ll see if Baldwin has reason to toot his horn and rant even further come Sunday night.
