Dolphins name Ryan Fitzpatrick Week 7 starting QB

The Miami Dolphins and head coach Brian Flores received flack last week for benching Josh Rosen in favor of Ryan Fitzpatrick.

That came after the Dolphins had named Rosen the starting quarterback for the remainder of the season.

Apparently, Flores had a complete change of heart. The first-year head coach met with the media on Wednesday in preparation for Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills. He quickly named Fitzpatrick the starter.

A team in full-scale tank mode probably shouldn’t be starting the 36-year-old Fitzpatrick over a second-year quarterback in Josh Rosen who is a former top-10 pick.

But at this point, it really doesn’t matter. Miami is in the midst of what could go down as the worst season in NFL history.

It has lost five consecutive to open the campaign and has been outscored 182-40 during that span.

Maybe Rosen should be counting his blessings that he doesn’t have to take one for the team under center against one of the best defenses in the NFL in Week 7.
