Members of the 1972 Miami Dolphins really do love having that champagne party every year after the last undefeated NFL team loses. It’s been a tradition. A petty tradition.
Unlike previous years, the Miami Dolphins themselves could be the final team to lose. They are one of three remaining undefeated teams in the league with a surprising 3-0 record.
So what does Hall of Fame quarterback Bob Griese think about Miami’s hot start. “I think everybody’s gonna get beat, Griese told TMZ Sports before saying that the Dolphins “can’t do the unexpected.”
When asked if he’s rooting for the Dolphins to go undefeated, Griese responded, “There’s only four teams that are undefeated, and I hope they all get beat.”
Tell it like it is, Mr. Griese.
To make things even more baffling for fans in South Beach, Griese had nothing but great things to say about Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. “No, I like Tom Brady. He’s a good guy,” Griese said when asked if he’s enjoying the Pats’ early-season struggles.
The good news for Dolphins fans? They take on the Patriots in New England on Sunday with an opportunity to move to 4-0 on the season and take a three-game lead over Brady and Co. We’re just wondering who Mr. Griese is going to be rooting for in that one.
