There’s no telling when the Los Angeles Dodgers and Major League Baseball will return to action after the start of the season was suspended back in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
What we do know is that multiple organizations and players have done whatever they can to help those most impacted by the pandemic. The Dodgers represent the latest entity to do just that. They joined in with the Dodgers Foundation and the Southern California chapter of The Salvation Army to hand out 2,000 food boxes and 40,000 meals Thursday afternoon.
This really shouldn’t go unnoticed. One of the unintended consequences of the ongoing global pandemic is the inability of some families to feed themselves.
The pandemic itself has put a spotlight on the growing economic disparity and socioeconomic issues around the United States and the rest of the world.
It’s great to see organizations like the Dodgers do their part, both for their players and their community.
