Dodgers activate RHP Shelby Miller from bereavement list

The Los Angeles Dodgers activated right-hander Shelby Miller from the bereavement list prior to Wednesday’s game against the visiting Chicago White Sox.

Los Angeles designated left-hander Adam Kolarek for assignment in a corresponding move.

Miller, 32, is 1-0 with a 2.57 ERA in 24 relief appearances this season. Miller struck out three in two scoreless innings during Friday night’s 5-4 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies before going on the bereavement list on Saturday.

Miller, who is with his eighth team, is 39-58 with a 4.15 ERA in 191 career games (132 starts). He is in his first season with Los Angeles.

Kolarek, 34, pitched against the Phillies on Sunday in his lone appearance for the Dodgers and struck out two and allowed one hit in 1 1/3 scoreless innings. He was 0-3 with a 2.18 ERA in 21 games at Triple-A Oklahoma City before being recalled Sunday.

Kolarek is 11-4 with a 3.73 ERA in 171 career relief appearances with the Tampa Bay Rays (2017-19), Dodgers (2019-20, 2023) and Oakland Athletics (2021-22).
