Oakland Raiders star receiver Antonio Brown was not one of the four players to receive an overall rating of 99, and he was upset about that, to say the least.
In a since-deleted Twitter message, Brown ripped EA Sports: “Madden shorted me on my check for the madden 19 cover now they short my ratings,” he tweeted.
For the record, the four players who did earn 99 overall ratings were Aaron Donald, Khalil Mack, Bobby Wagner and DeAndre Hopkins. It’s hard to argue with any of those.
Though it’s easy to understand why Brown — one of the most dynamic receivers in recent memory — is upset Hopkins out-ranked him this year.
The silver lining here is that Brown did delete the message. So, maybe he’s finally realizing the wisdom of not airing all his grievances on social media.
