Disastrous Day for Texans, Both Quarterbacks Injured

The Houston Texans came close to defeating the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. But at the end of the day, they fell short. The 17-10 Colts win clinched the AFC South for Andrew Luck and Co.

Now at 7-7 on the season, Houston is likely out of the AFC Playoff race.

It is also going to be without starter Ryan Fitzpatrick, who broke his leg on Sunday against the Colts. Even more disturbing than that, rookie signal caller Tom Savage suffered an apparent knee injury and will have an MRI to diagnose the severity of said injury.

This all comes on the heels of Ryan Mallett, who was hand picked by head coach Bill O’Brien to start, slated to miss the remainder of the year with a pectoral muscle injury that occurred back in Week 12.

So what does this mean? If Savage is unable to go in the final two games, veteran journeyman Thad Lewis would be called on to start for the Texans.

Talk about a brutal string of events Sunday for the now .500 Texans.
