Infielder Jace Peterson was added to the Arizona Diamondbacks roster on Friday before Game 1 of the World Series at Texas.

Peterson, 33, is a 10-year veteran acquired from the Oakland Athletics at the trade deadline. He’s on the 26-man roster in place of right-handed reliever Slade Cecconi.

The Rangers kept the same roster used in the American League Championship Series.

Peterson has played second base and third base for the Diamondbacks. He hit .183 with nine RBIs in 41 games with Arizona in a total of 106 plate appearances. Combined this season with the A’s and Diamondbacks, he hit .211 with six home runs and 37 RBIs in 133 games.

Cecconi, 24, pitched in two losses to the Philadelphia Phillies in the NLCS, working one scoreless inning in Game 2 and another in Game 5.
