Dez Bryant last played in an NFL game nearly three years ago. Now, he could be on the verge of making his NFL return with his Baltimore Ravens debut in Week 9.

Bryant, who signed with Baltimore’s practice squad two weeks ago, will reportedly be elevated to the active roster and could see the field on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts.

NFL news: Ravens sign Dez Bryant to active roster

As first reported by ESPN’s Field Yates, the Ravens are signing Bryant to their active 53-man roster before Sunday’s game. The three-time Pro Bowl selection now stands a good chance of being available against the Colts in Week 9.

We last saw Bryant play on Dec. 21, 2017, against the Philadelphia Eagles. He finished that game with three receptions for 24 receiving yards, capping off a season with 69 catches for 838 receiving yards and six touchdowns.

Bryant, a former first-round pick, signed with the Saints in November 2018. After eight seasons in Dallas, he was hopeful latching on with Drew Brees and Co. could revitalize his career. Instead, Bryant tore his Achilles’ tendon in his first practice. He spent more than a year working his way back from the injury but started to look impressive during workouts this summer.

Baltimore brought him in for a workout in August and he made a strong impression. However, the organization chose to keep his name on their contact list instead of signing him.

With Baltimore’s passing attack struggling, lacking a physical threat for Lamar Jackson to lob 50/50 balls toward, the Ravens finally took action. Now, after a few weeks of settling into this scheme, Bryant should be back on an NFL field and making an impact.
