During the fourth quarter of Saturday’s huge game against Texas A&M, Alabama receiver DeVonta Smith was ejected for throwing a punch.

On Monday, Nick Saban announced the senior will be suspended the first half of the upcoming game against Tennessee.

Smith was certainly provoked but reacted poorly. He was thrown to the ground and then took a shot from his opponent. That’s when refs caught Smith redhanded as he connected with a close-fisted punch.

At the time, the Crimson Tide were winning by nearly three touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Chances are, they’ll be up by at least that much when Smith gets into Saturday night’s game against the Volunteers.
