A top NBA insider revealed the four players the Detroit Pistons are likely to target this summer with their massive amount of cap space, and it includes Pascal Siakam and Miles Bridges.

There is no other way to say it than the 2023-24 NBA season has been the worst in the storied history of the Detroit Pistons. On Tuesday they set the record for most consecutive losses in a single season at 27. On Thursday, they could tie the all-time record of 28 that the Philadelphia 76ers spread over the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons.

This season’s results are all the more stunning after the franchise gave one-time Coach of the Year award winner Monty Williams a massive contract this summer in the hopes he could quickly lead them back to prominence.

Yet, despite their horrendous showing this year, owner Tom Gores is still hoping they can salvage the season and recently suggested they have the assets and cap space to bring in some impact players in the near future.

Potential Pistons targets were something that Fan Duel TV NBA insider Shams Charania shed some light on during a Wednesday edition of “Run It Back.”

“Tom Gores, their owner, he wants changes. He wants them to make moves,” Charania said. “They’re going to evaluate everything. From the front office to the roster. I think everyone but Cade Cunningham and Jalen Duran have to be up for grabs. Guys like Bojan Bogdanovic, Monte Morris, have value around the league. What could the Pistons get for them in a trade? The Pistons do want a four-man in free agency. They are going to be active.

“They’ll have $50-$60 million in cap space next summer. I’m told some names to keep an eye on, Pascal Siakam, OG Anunoby, Tobias Harris, as well as Miles Bridges. So this is 27 games and counting. They can try to go make a trade now, but at this point, nothing is changing their season.”

Two-time All-Star Siakam and his talented young teammate Anunoby are both set to be free agents in the summer and that space that Charania mentioned could be used on one of both men. Harris and Bridges are both rock-solid starters in the league who are also set to be free agents after this year but don’t have the resume or upside of the two Toronto Raptors stars.
