DeShone Kizer benched for Cody Kessler after 2 INTs

Browns QB DeShone Kizer looked the part in his NFL debut.

The Cleveland Browns are once again making a change at quarterback. After rookie DeShone Kizer threw two interceptions, he was replaced by Cody Kessler.

This is Kessler’s first action of 2017. In 2016, he got into nine games, completing 65.6 percent of his passes for 1,380 yards with six touchdowns, two interceptions, and a 92.3 passer rating.

Kizer was 12-for-20 with 114 yards passing with no touchdowns and two picks before getting benched on Sunday. That moved his touchdown to interception ratio to a rather ugly 3-for-11 on the season. It’s the third consecutive start that Kizer has been benched by head coach Hue Jackson.
