Report: Derrick Rose away from Cavs, evaluating career as injuries take mental toll

Derrick Rose

The last time Derrick Rose was able to finish a full season without injuries was back in 2010-11, and these days his name is synonymous with injuries.

In the past five-plus seasons, he’s missed multiple games due to injury every single year. This year with the Cleveland Cavaliers, he’s been able to play in just seven games and has been out recently with an ankle injury.

Not surprisingly, all these injuries are reportedly taking a toll on the talented point guard.

Per Dave McMenamin of ESPN, Rose is currently away from the Cavaliers and is evaluating his future in basketball.

In the same way it’s not surprising that Rose’s injury riddled career is frustrating him and causing him mental distress, it’s not surprising he might be considering calling it quits. He simply cannot stay healthy, and his career has been just as much about agonizing rehabilitation as anything else the past half decade-plus.

We wish Rose nothing but the best as he wrestles with this decision.
