A couple weeks ago, NFL free agent receiver Demaryius Thomas was involved in a scary accident early in the morning while in Denver.

Now he’s being charged with vehicular assault, driving without insurance, and reckless driving, according to the Denver Post.

Thomas, who escaped the wreck with minor injuries, was booked into Denver jail on Wednesday night.

The accident occurred very early in the morning. Thomas was the driver when he lost control of his vehicle, which flipped. Both he and a passenger escaped the wreck with minor injuries. Another passenger did not and was hospitalized for more significant injuries.

The wreck occurred not long after Thomas was released by the Houston Texans. He suffered a season-ending Achilles injury a few games after being traded from Denver to Houston.

The 31-year-old wide receiver has played 10 seasons in the NFL. A former first-round pick out of Georgia Tech, he has caught 688 passes for 9,330 yards and 62 touchdowns over the course of his career.
