DeMarco Murray on Dallas Cowboys “I Think I’ve Moved on”

The Dallas Cowboys made it quite easy for running back DeMarco Murray to seek out other teams last month after they did not offer him the contract he desired.

Along came the Philadelphia Eagles with their deep pockets, who signed Murray to a five-year, $40 million contract. This was a price tag that the Cowboys were not willing to pay to keep Murray playing in Dallas. Harboring no hard feelings, Murray appears to be taking it all in stride.

I’m not worried about the Cowboys. I think I’ve moved on and I wish those guys the best, and once that game comes ahead we’ll focus on that,” Murray said, via CBS Philly. “But right now, we’re just focused on today and that’s trying to get stronger in this weight room. We got a lower body lift today, so we’re gonna get after it a little bit.

Murray will face his former Cowboys’ team twice during the season with the first meeting taking place at home on September 20. Speaking about the rivalry between the two NFC East teams after having played with the Cowboys for four seasons, Murray is all too familiar with that subject.

I definitely knew that over the past four years. I’ve gotten the wrath, the hatred, being on the other side. So, I’ve known about the hatred.

Tossing any past ill feelings of his own aside, Murray seems thrilled about his new digs in Philly, especially speaking highly about his transition to the east coast.

The city has been amazing. The support that you have from the fans and the whole entire community here, it’s unbelievable. So, I’m excited to make these guys proud to have me on their team. Happy to be here, family is happy to be here, and great guys, great team. I’m looking forward to the season.

Murray had previously claimed that his move to Philly was not about the money. Instead, he insisted it was all about winning the Super Bowl. At this point in time, we should have a clearer picture of where each team is following the upcoming draft.
