DeAndre Jordan expected to sign with the Dallas Mavericks

That didn’t take too long. One day after he opted out of his contract with the Los Angeles Clippers, All-Star center DeAndre Jordan is destined to join the Dallas Mavericks.

According to Marc Stein of The New York Times, the two sides will come to terms on a contract here soon.

With north of $25 million to spend against the cap, Dallas has been making moves to find enough cash to sign Jordan. It appears that has paid off.

Jordan, 29, averaged 12.0 points and 15.2 rebounds for the Clippers last season. He’s among the best defensive players in the game and will add to a solid young core that already includes Dennis Smith Jr., Harrison Barnes and rookie lottery pick Luka Doncic.
