David Price rips Dennis Eckersley after old feud between them resurfaces

A two-year old feud between Boston Red Sox pitcher David Price and Hall of Fame pitcher and current Red Sox analyst Dennis Eckersley has been reignited.

In 2017, Price ripped Eckersley for some comments that he made in the booth, even confronting him on the team plane. In a Tuesday feature from Chad Finn of The Boston Globe, Eckersley said of Price “I don’t plan on saying a word to him, I don’t plan on seeing him, never.”

That set off a series of tweets from Price. Price noted that he planned on apologizing to Eckersley, who backed out of the meeting. He also criticized Eckersley’s announcing style and opined that “ECK needs attention!!

It didn’t stop there. Upon arriving at the ballpark on Wednesday, Price was asked about the feud. He continued to rip Eckersley.

In the initial argument, Price was in the wrong. That said, it was two years ago. It’s not a great look for Eckersley to be bringing it up now, especially if he did back out of a face-to-face meeting.

For the sake of their sanities, it would probably be best for both Price and Eckersley to move on and end this rift. That said, we don’t exactly imagine that happening any time soon. Chances are, there’s plenty more drama to come with this one.
