The NBA has named Brooklyn Nets guard D’Angelo Russell as the replacement player for Victor Oladipo in the 2019 All-Star Game.
Oladipo, of course, is not playing due to a season-ending knee injury.
This is certainly a good call. Russell has been playing at an extremely high level all year, and he’s really turned his game up to another level in the month of January — his 357 points are the most by any Nets player in a month since 2012.
On the season, Russell is averaging 19.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, 6.4 assists and 1.2 steals per game.
