New Minnesota Timberwolves star guard D’Angelo Russell will make his debut with the team Monday night in Toronto against the Raptors. Acquired from the Golden State Warriors in a blockbuster trade last week, Russell will then make his home debut Wednesday night at the Target Center.

How is Russell and best bud Karl-Anthony Towns celebrating this occasion? Each one of them have decided to purchase 1,000 tickets to give away to Wolves fans for the game against the Charlotte Hornets.

The tickets were gone within the matter of minutes, showing us what fans will do to get into a game for free.

Minnesota heads into this week’s action with a 16-35 record. Though, there’s some renewed optimism on this front. The Wolves attempted to acquire Russell during the summer before he was ultimately dealt from the Brooklyn Nets to Golden State in the Kevin Durant sign-and-trade.

They have been attempting to acquire the All-Star guard at nearly every turn since, finally pulling off the trade mere hours before the NBA trade deadline on Feb. 6.
