Dan Patrick recalls moment he discussed O.J. Simpson’s legal history with the former NFL RB

O.J. Simpson’s legal history is well documented, including several TV shows covering all aspects of the past. Aside from his Hall of Fame career as a running back for the USC Trojans and Buffalo Bills, what’s discussed the most are the live TV shot of the low-speed cop chase in the white Ford Bronco or the actual murder incident itself.

But longtime sportscaster Dan Patrick wasn’t planning to bring up anything about the now 76-year-old’s controversial past during an interview with Simpson. He didn’t have to. It was Simpson who suddenly turned to Patrick and asked, “You think I did it?”

Despite sitting right next to him, interviewing Simpson, Patrick didn’t hold back. According to Patrick, he answered “Yes” to Simpson’s question.

Here’s the full exchange, as told by Patrick.

As Patrick noted, the exchange came during an unrecorded portion of his interview with Simpson. Patrick didn’t provide more information as to how Simpson responded or where the conversation turned after that. How do you even transition to another topic after something so heavy?
