Dan Mullen admits he was wrong saying Kyle Trask hit was ‘dirty’

During Saturday’s slobberknocker between Auburn and Florida, Gators quarterback Kyle Trask took a scary hit to his knee and briefly left the game. At halftime, head coach Dan Mullen expressed his anger over what he perceived was a “dirty” hit by the Auburn defender who crashed into Trask’s lower body.

On Monday, likely after seeing the video that clearly showed the defender actually being dragged into Trask’s lower body, Mullen admitted he was wrong.

In the heat of the moment, we’ve all said things that we regret. That seems to be the case here with Mullen, who was likely a bit in a panic over a second quarterback suffering what appeared at the time of the hit to be a potential season-ending injury.
