It’s Dame Time to 20K; Lillard reaches scoring milestone

Dame time: Lillard hits 20,000 points

Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

Damian Lillard is this close to being in the Top 50 of all-time NBA career scorers. He reached 51 on Tuesday when he went over 20,000 points.

It was Dame Time Tuesday as Lillard scored 40 points, his season high, in the Milwaukee Bucks’ 132-119 win against the San Antonio Spurs.

Now at 20,034, Lillard will no doubt zoom up the list. Just ahead of him is Antawn Jamison with 20,042 and Tom Chambers at 20,049. He should catch Joe Johnson, Mitch Richmond and LaMarcus Aldridge before the season is over.

Now that he has hit 20,000 points, Lillard joins the list of active players that includes LeBron James, Kevin Durant, James Harden, Russell Westbrook, Stephen Curry, DeMar DeRozan and Chris Paul.

More impressive is that Lillard, James, Curry and Harden are the only players in NBA history to have 20,000 points, 5,000 assists and 2,000 3-pointers.
