Dallas Cowboys great Michael Irvin has reportedly been removed from making any further Super Bowl LVII appearances for the NFL Network after a woman claimed improper conduct by the Hall-of-Famer this week.

On Wednesday morning, the Dallas Morning News reported that Irvin, 56, was pulled from upcoming appearances at Super Bowl 57 events for the rest of the week after an unidentified woman made a claim “about his conduct during an encounter Sunday evening in Arizona.”

“Michael Irvin will not be a part of NFL Network’s Super Bowl LVII week coverage,” NFL Media vice president of communications, Alex Riethmiller, said in a statement.

However, in comments following the incident, the five-time Pro Bowler claimed he was “baffled” by the complaint after what he alleges was a public encounter with minimal physical interaction.

Since being benched following the improper conduct claim, the Dallas Cowboys legend has done a pair of interviews with the Dallas Morning News and 105.3 the Fan in Dallas claiming confusion over what would have occurred during the encounter that would lead to the NFL Network’s decision.

“Honestly, I’m a bit baffled with it all. This all happened in a 45-second conversation in the lobby. When I got back after going out … I came into the lobby, and talked to somebody. I talked to this girl. I don’t know her, and I talked to her for about 45 seconds. We shook hands. Then, I left. … I don’t really recall that conversation, to tell you the truth. We were out drinking. It was just a friendly conversation. ‘What’s up?’ I don’t even know. … I am totally perplexed.”

Michael Irvin works for NFL Media but also does NFL-related appearances for ESPN on their various shows. He was scheduled to be a guest on a Friday edition of “First Take,” however, that appearance and his future with NFL Media are unclear at this time.

The Dallas Cowboys great has had some off-the-field problems in his past, including a 1996 arrest for cocaine possession, drug possession in 2000, and was investigated for a sexual assault claim in 2017.
