Until being let go by the Dallas Cowboys, Jason Garrett had been with Dak Prescott from the moment he was drafted. Now he’s coaching the team’s biggest rival, the New York Giants.
Not surprisingly, Prescott has some big feelings about all that. Speaking on ESPN, he opened up a bit and shared that “it’s sad” that Garrett was fired. Also, he said, “I just hate the team he had to go to.”
No doubt, Jerry Jones shares similar sentiments, despite letting Garrett go in the first place.
Garrett was a lame duck during the 2019 season and was replaced by former Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy this winter. It didn’t take long before rookie Giants head coach Joe Judge inked Garrett to coach his offense, which keeps him in the NFC East where he’s coached since 2007.
It’s going to be weird for everyone to see Garrett coaching on New York’s sideline when the Giants face the Cowboys for the first time in 2020.
