Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was recently convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in jail without the possibility of parole.
Now, according to Daily Mail, he was allegedly “hooked on ‘angel dust,’ a drug known to cause users to experience violent outbursts and paranoia” and used the drug for “at least a year before [Odin Lloyd] was shot dead.”
The Daily Mail cited “a man who knew Hernandez and asked not to be identified,” so it is important to remain vigilant when unnamed sources are used to put someone on blast.
If the man’s statements are true, however, he’s providing unfortunate information about Hernandez’s state during the year leading up to the murder. He called Hernandez “consistently aggressive, arrogant and unpleasant.”
The Daily Mail wrote that Hernandez is currently on suicide watch in prison, something TMZ also reported.
But, again, be cautious. While Hernandez does not necessarily deserve the benefit of the doubt, the new allegations are some heavy stuff.
