Dabo Swinney blasts media, says Trevor Lawrence is fine

Clemson quarterback and top Heisman candidate Trevor Lawrence was said to have suffered a shoulder injury in a game against Texas A&M earlier this season.

Nothing has come up on this front from Dabo Swinney and the Tigers’ football program. Now coming off their bye and set to take on Florida State Saturday, Swinney addressed these rumors.

He also took time out of his presser to blast the media for attempting to create drama.

“There’s nothing wrong with Trevor. And I don’t like people trying to create drama. There’s no drama on this team. So what do people want to do? They want to create drama,” Swinney said, via 247 Sports. “It’s the most unbelievable thing. Ain’t nothing wrong with Trevor. Zero. Nothing. If we did an MRI, that ain’t nobody’s business. We do MRIs all the time. ALL the time. All the time. I mean a guy gets a bruise on his knee, we do an MRI.”

That’s a pretty big tirade from the usually mild-mannered Swinney there. He’s obviously not interested in talking about any potential injury.

However, it must be noted that Lawrence has thrown just six touchdowns and two picks in the three outings since that above-mentioned A&M game.

Clemson is also coming off a narrow win over North Carolina in a game that saw Lawrence complete just 18-of-30 passes.
