The Columbus Crew acquired forward Diego Rossi from Turkish club Fenerbahce SK for an undisclosed transfer fee on Wednesday.

Rossi, a two-time MLS All-Star, joins Columbus as a designated player after playing in Europe since 2021. His contract will run through the 2026 season and features a club option for 2027.

“Diego is a winner and an exciting, skillful player, and we are excited to welcome him to the Crew,” Crew president and general manager Tim Bezbatchenko said in a release. “He has a natural ability to score and create goals, and he has further demonstrated his exceptional quality over the past few seasons while competing in Europe.”

Prior to heading overseas, the 25-year-old Rossi spent four seasons (2018-21) with LAFC. He recorded 48 goals and 21 assists in 104 matches (100 starts) while also becoming the youngest player (age 22) in MLS history to earn the Golden Boot, doing so in 2020 when he scored 14 goals.

Columbus (10-7-6, 36 points) currently sits in sixth place in the Eastern Conference.
