The Dallas Cowboys have some huge decisions to make this offseason, including whether to bring back veteran tight end Jason Witten.

According to Calvin Watkins of Dallas News, there is an expectation that veteran linebacker Sean Lee will return, but when it comes to Witten he isn’t as optimistic.

Witten has expressed a desire to continue playing for the ‘Boys this coming season and has been extremely bullish on the team’s championship potential as well. However, the Cowboys appear to be going with a full-blown youth movement, and bringing back a guy who’ll be 38 when the season begins may not fit into that plan.

Last season, after skipping the 2018 campaign “retired” while working for ESPN, Witten caught 63 passes for 529 yards and four touchdowns. His average of 8.4 yards per catch was a career low.
