Dallas Cowboys left tackle Tyron Smith was limited in practice on Thursday and listed as questionable to play against the visiting Detroit Lions on Saturday.

Smith is nursing a back injury that prevented him from playing in Dallas’ 22-20 loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.

A two-time first-team All-Pro and eight-time Pro Bowl selection, Smith has started all 11 games in which he has played this season. Smith, 33, was selected by the Cowboys with the ninth overall pick of the 2011 NFL Draft out of Southern California.

Smith’s backup, Chuma Edoga, was a full participant in Thursday’s practice and has no injury designation. He was limited on Wednesday due to a toe injury.

Also on Thursday, the Cowboys (10-5) ruled out defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins (knee, ankle) and running back Rico Dowdle (ankle).

The Lions (11-4), in turn, ruled out safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson (pectoral), linebacker James Houston (ankle) and tight end Brock Wright (hip) and listed cornerback Cam Sutton (toe) as questionable.
