Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp has worn the No. 18 jersey since he joined the franchise as a rookie out of Eastern Washington. Now he’s making a change.

Cooper Kupp changing from No. 18 to No. 10

Kupp announced he’s changing his jersey number with an awesome Twitter message on Monday night.

In it, he shared that he was handed the No. 1 jersey as a high school player, even though he didn’t want it. When he got to Eastern Washington, he changed the number to 10 to remind himself “of the hard work in HS that opened up that door for me.”

Once he got to the pros, No. 10 wasn’t available to him. Pharoah Cooper had it the. Now it is available, and he’s reclaiming it for himself.

Kupp taking care of the fans

As he’s making the jersey change, Kupp isn’t forgetting about all the fans who bought his No. 18 jersey. Fans who bought the old jersey between Jan. 1 and May 10 will have the chance to have it converted into a “bespoke garment” designed by Kupp’s wife. They will also get a personalized letter with his signature on it.

All in all, a pretty cool gesture from the Rams star receiver.
