The Los Angeles Rams are looking to trade wide receiver Cooper Kupp, signaling the end of his tenure with the team after eight seasons.
Selected by the Rams in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft, Kupp has developed into one of the league’s premier receivers.
His breakout year came in 2021, when he was named first-team All-Pro and captured the Associated Press Offensive Player of the Year Award. That season, he led the league in receptions (145), receiving yards (1,947), receiving touchdowns (16), and receiving yards per game (114.5). He capped off the year by earning Super Bowl MVP honors in the Rams’ victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Rams rewarded Kupp with a three-year, $80.1 million extension, which took effect this past season. However, since his record-setting 2021 campaign, injuries have limited him to just 33 games over the last three years.
With the Rams wanting to move Kupp, an NFL insider revealed the top five landing spots.

Where will Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp play in 2025?

ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler has identified five potential landing spots for Kupp in 2025: the New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers, Detroit Lions, Washington Commanders, and Kansas City Chiefs.
According to Fowler, an AFC executive believes the Patriots would be “foolish” not to pursue Kupp, as he could provide young quarterback Drake Maye with a much-needed playmaker. New England currently has one of the NFL’s weakest receiving corps.
The Steelers, who are deciding between Russell Wilson and Justin Fields at quarterback, might revisit their interest in Kupp after reportedly exploring a trade for him at the 2024 deadline.
Fowler suggests Kupp would develop “instant chemistry” with Lions quarterback Jared Goff, while he could serve as a “complementary receiver” to Terry McLaurin in Washington, providing another target for Jayden Daniels.
As for the Chiefs, Fowler notes that acquiring Kupp would “seem like a Chiefs-type move,” adding, “They pulled off something similar with DeAndre Hopkins at the deadline and could think about the same with Kupp.”
Kupp is set to earn $20 million in 2025, though only $5 million of that salary is guaranteed.
