Connor Williams to skip Texas’ bowl game, declares for 2018 NFL Draft

A potential top-10 pick in the upcoming 2018 NFL Draft, Texas offensive lineman Connor Williams has decided to forego the team’s upcoming bowl game.

The athletic left tackle made his announcement to declare on his Twitter account.

Williams had to miss some time this past year when he injured the MCL in his left knee. Thankfully for him, it wasn’t a serious injury that didn’t require surgery. He was able to finish the season with the team and put some excellent tape together for pro scouts.

Williams joins the likes of Christian McCaffrey and Leonard Fournette, who both chose not to participate in their team’s bowl games last year to avoid potentially career-altering injuries as they focused on their professional careers.
