We’ve already seen a lawsuit filed in Louisiana stemming from the end of the NFC Championship Game between the Los Angeles Rams and New Orleans Saints.
By now, it’s already known what occurred inside the Superdome. Late in a tie game, the officials failed to call an obvious pass interference penalty on Rams cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman. It led to Los Angeles winning the game in overtime.
The backlash has been real. In fact, some are calling for the game to be replayed. That includes Louisiana-based Congressman Steve Scalise — the House Minority Whip.
“Frankly, they should play a makeup game,” Scalise told TMZ Sports. “If the Saints played the Rams on Saturday, I think it’d be the highest-watched sports event all year.”
An avid sports fan, Scalise joins others in believing his Saints were robbed of a spot in Super Bowl LIII. In no way does this mean the NFL will reverse course and replay the game. In less than two weeks, the Rams and Patriots will do battle in Super Bowl LIII.
That doesn’t mean the drama is going to die down soon.
As for Scalise, it’s great to see him out and about. Back in 2017, he was shot in the hip during a Republican baseball practice for the annual congressional baseball game in Virginia.
