Hany Mukhtar and Sam Surridge each had a goal and an assist as Nashville SC rolled to a 3-0 win over Moca FC on Thursday in the first leg of a CONCACAF Champions Cup opening-round series in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic.

Tyler Boyd also scored for Nashville, which holds a comfortable lead heading home for the second leg of the two-match, total goal series on Wednesday.

The Nashville-Moca series winner will advance to face Inter Miami in the round of 16.

Surridge’s pass in the box led to Mukhtar’s goal in the 12th minute. Mukhtar turned provider in the 24th minute, playing in Surridge, who rounded a defender and drove home a right-footed shot from just above the penalty spot.

Boyd weaved through traffic and drove in a 12-yard shot in the 75th minute to cap the scoring.

Another CONCACAF Champions Cup first-round series was set to open later Thursday night, with FC Cincinnati opposing Cavalier FC in Kingston, Jamaica.
