Complexity Gaming and Fnatic were the first two teams eliminated from the $250,000 Funspark ULTI 2021 event.

ECSTATIC swept Complexity and Astralis defeated Fnatic 2-1 in Thursday’s lower bracket Round 1 matches.

Funspark ULTI is a double-elimination, eight-team Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament that runs through Monday. All matches are best-of-three until the best-of-five grand final. The upper bracket side will start with a 1-0 lead in the finale. The champion earns $150,000 and one of two Funspark ULTI 2022 berths.

ECSTATIC outlasted Complexity 22-20 on Inferno before posting a 16-10 win on Nuke. Dion “FASHR” Derksen of the Netherlands led the winners with 74 kills and a plus-31 kills-to-deaths ratio.

Astralis sandwiched a 16-2 win on Mirage and a 19-16 overtime decision on Inferno around a 16-13 loss to Fnatic on Nuke. Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander led the all-Danish Astralis side with 66 kills and a plus-13 ratio.
