Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Parris Campbell exited in Week 2 against the Minnesota Vikings after suffering a gruesome knee injury.

Coming off one of the best games in his career, Campbell was finally making the most of his exciting talent in the Colts’ offense. Now, Indianapolis could be without one of its top playmakers for the rest of the season.

Parris Campbell exits Week 2 with knee injury

Campbell, a second-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, came around the edge on an end-around and picked up the first down. Unfortunately, Vikings safety Harrison Smith came in low and drilled right into the young receiver’s knee.

The 23-year-old immediately went down, grabbing his knee in visible pain. As the video showed, Campbell’s knee was planted when he was hit and it bent underneath him in gruesome fashion.

Indianapolis immediately brought the cart out with Campbell unable to put any weight on his leg. Coming off a 71-yard performance in Week 1, the Colts were hoping he would build off his season debut. Instead, Campbell may now face a lengthy absence and another hurdle in his NFL career.
