Colts GM: No timetable for Andrew Luck’s return to the field

Andrew Luck

Injuries have not been kind to Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck for the last two seasons. In 2016, Luck didn’t exactly have the bounce-back year that was expected. To top things off, the quarterback had to undergo a surgery to his right shoulder this past January. The estimated recovery time then was approximately six months.

Currently, the team has no timetable as to when Luck will be back in action.

“We’re going to do the best thing for Andrew Luck. We’re going to follow doctor’s orders and when he’s ready he’s ready,” said new general manager Chris Ballard, per Conor Orr of NFL.com.”

According to the report, Ballard has been keeping communications with Luck on the down low.

“I’ll keep that conversation between me and Andrew. He’s a great human being as you all know. The Indianapolis Colts are fortunate to have him. He’s rehabbing, he’s doing everything the doctors are telling him.”

Ballard also said he has seen Luck at the facility each day he has been at work.

Luck has proven himself to be a tough player on the field. There is also plenty of time until the team convenes for any type of organized off-season activities.

Unfortunately, the Colts have missed the playoffs in each of the past two seasons. Prior to that — and with Luck pretty much healthy — Indianapolis made the playoffs in each of the quarterback’s first four seasons.
