Colts’ Andrew Luck takes next step in return from injury

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

The Indianapolis Colts have been without star quarterback Andrew Luck for the past three months due to a calf injury.

While a recent update from the team didn’t seem to be too positive, head coach Frank Reich provided a much better update on Tuesday.

Reich noted that Luck is going through more challenging workouts ahead of the team’s preseason opener this week. Reich also noted that “things seem to be going well.”

It’s the first real positive update we’ve heard from Indianapolis relating to Luck’s status.

While the veteran is highly unlikely to play at all in the preseason, he should be ready for Week 1.
