Collin Sexton declares for 2018 NBA draft, will hire agent

Collin Sexton is a one-and-done. The Alabama point guard announced Friday that he will hire an agent and enter the 2018 NBA draft.

“I’m officially declaring for the 2018 NBA draft. Thank you, and Roll Tide,” Sexton said, per Charlie Potter of Bama247.

During his lone season with the Crimson Tide, Sexton averaged 19.2 points on 44.7 percent shooting, adding 3.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists. He also knocked down 33.6 percent of his threes.

Sexton will most be remembered for his buzzer-beating floater in the SEC tournament. That victory effectively secured Alabama’s place in March Madness, and his 31-point outburst against rival Auburn in the next game vaulted the Tide to a No. 9 seed.

Behind 25 points from Sexton in the first round against Virginia Tech, Alabama won an NCAA tournament game for the first time in 12 years.

Sexton is expected to be a borderline lottery pick and likely won’t fall below No. 20 in the opening round of the NBA draft in June.
