Collin Morikawa ascended to fourth in the latest Official World Golf Ranking after winning the World Golf Championships-Workday Championship this past weekend.
Morikawa, 24, moved up two spots on Monday to reside behind only world No. 1 Dustin Johnson, Jon Rahm of Spain and Justin Thomas.
Morikawa finished at 18-under-par 270 to claim a three-stroke victory over Billy Horschel, Brooks Koepka and Norway’s Viktor Hovland on Sunday in Bradenton, Fla. The 2020 PGA Championship winner, Morikawa emerged victorious for the fourth time since turning pro in 2019.
“It shows that I can come out here and compete, but what a week,” Morikawa said Sunday on the NBC broadcast. “I was working on so much over the past couple of weeks. I got tips from Mark O’Meara and Paul Azinger and it got me through this week. My game felt so good and I’m just so excited right now.”
Xander Schauffele and England’s Tyrrell Hatton each dropped one spot to Nos. 5 and 6, respectively. Patrick Cantlay and Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy remained seventh and eighth, respectively, while Patrick Reed moved up two spots to No. 9. Webb Simpson dropped one spot to No. 10.
