Nick Saban is putting his foot down on whether he will return to a college football sideline.
With job openings at power programs like Florida and Penn State, rumors are circulating around Saban and whether he wants to get back into coaching. The legendary coach won a record seven national championships.
Appearing on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Friday, Saban revealed he has no interest in coaching again and didn’t want his agent Jimmy Sexton to start talking to his wife Terry about how much schools would offer.
“I want to stay retired and I do not want [Sexton] anywhere near Miss Terry, because when she hears some of these numbers, she gets interested,” Saban said. “And I ain’t interested.”

Miss Terry Weighs In on Potential Return
During last week’s “College GameDay,” McAfee asked Terry Saban if they would head to Happy Valley if Penn State offered $50 million annually to have her husband lead the program.
“I have no doubt if Nick wanted to go back to coaching, he could win his eighth national championship, but we’re having too much fun,” she told the “College GameDay” crew. “And we wouldn’t want to take that opportunity away from all of our baby coaches, like Kirby [Smart] and Lane [Kiffin]. Too much fun. I haven’t heard a number yet.”

After 17 years at Alabama, Saban retired following the 2023 season with a 206-29 record, including 16-7 in bowl games, and leading the Crimson Tide to six national championships. He also won a national championship at LSU in 2003.
Saban coming out of retirement seems unlikely, no matter how much money is offered. He’s 73 years old and has a comfortable role as a “College GameDay” analyst.
