Colin Kaepernick has moved his workout in Atlanta Saturday after the NFL denied his request for media and cameras to be allowed for transparency.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the move, and shared an official announcement from Ben Meiselas and Jeff Nailey on behalf of Kaepernick:
The key points we’re paying attention to in this statement are that the NFL did not provide a “legitimate process,” that the NFL asked Kaepernick to “sign an unusual liability waiver that addresses employment-related issues and rejected the standard liability waiver from physical injury proposed by Mr. Kaepernick’s representatives,” and that the NFL denied media and camera access to the workout.
That’s a heck of a lot to unpack. The NFL has been accused by many of setting up this workout as nothing more than a sideshow to show that it did, in fact, provide Kaepernick with an opportunity.
Clearly, the people representing Kaepernick, and the quarterback himself, do not believe the NFL was fair or serious in setting this all up to begin with.
