Colin Kaepernick collusion lawsuit against the NFL settled

In a stunning piece of information on Friday, the lawyer for free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick announced that his ongoing collusion lawsuit against the NFL has been settled.

Mark Geragos put out a statement via social media indicating that a confidentiality agreement has been put in place — preventing further comment on the settlement.

Given how long this grievance has drawn on, this is a relatively shocking development. Kaepernick himself had earned multiple court victories — claiming that the NFL and its owners colluded to keep him out of the league after he started the now infamous National Anthem protests back in 2016.

For their part, the NFL released a statement that mirrored exactly what Geragos had to say.

Given the nature of the agreement, we’re not going to hear much more about this. At the very least, one of the biggest PR nightmares for the NFL in recent years has drawn to a somewhat ho-hum conclusion.
