Colin Kaepernick acquires airplane to help ship goods to Somalia

Colin Kaepernick

It has been a news-filled day when it comes to NFL free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

The latest is Kap making news himself that doesn’t have anything to do with playing football. Kaepernick was successful working with some fellow advocates to get Turkish Airlines to donate an airplane to fly goods and supplies to Somalia, per TMZ Sports.

Now that the transportation is in place, next on Kap’s mission was launching a “Go Fund Me” page to raise money. He vows that “every cent” will go towards purchasing food, water and other crucial supplies to the people in need in Somalia.

Kaepernick is passionate about this mission called #LoveArmyForSomalia, and is working with actor Ben Stiller to raise funds. Considering Kap’s video has been viewed over 18,000 times since it came out earlier on Friday, it would appear he will get the support he is seeking.

His “Go Fund Me” page has already garnered nearly $130,000 (at the time of this report) of the $1 million being sought for the mission.

This is a fabulous cause. Setting aside Kaepernick’s unknown status in the league, it is great to see him working for causes he clearly feels so passionate about.
